College of Nursing
Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Nursing School situated at Swami Dayanand Hospital, Dilshad Garden, Delhi-110095, is the only Nursing School of EDMC. It has been functional since Ist August 2013, to of 20 students in affiliation with the Indian Nursing Council and Delhi Nursing Council. Later this Diploma in General Nurse Midwifery was upgraded to three years course rather than three and half years course with batch strength of 22 students from year 2020 per year in affiliation with the Indian Nursing Council and Delhi Nursing Council. There is a common entrance test for admitting students as per merit since 2013. At present we have 66 students (1st, 2nd & 3rd year). Our tenth batch had passed out in the month of November 2025.
We believe that basic course of modern nursing is a dynamic, educational process in meeting the complete therapeutic needs of the individual, family, community and also national and international goals helping the students to develop pride in their profession besides keeping them abreast with current knowledge and professional trends for a successful career ahead. It further recognised the interdependence of nursing to allied professions and occupations in, prevention of diseases, promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.

-To help the students to acquire knowledge, understanding and the correct professional attitude necessary for carrying out nursing activities both in the hospital and in the community. To help the students in acquiring the skills essential in providing care according to the needs of individual patient and developing the skills to enhance interpersonal relationship communication & counselling.
The nurse on completion of this course will be able to:
1. Demonstrate competency in providing health care to individual, sick or well, using nursing process.
2. Apply knowledge from the humanities, biological and behavioural sciences in functioning as a nurse.
3. Function effectively with members of the health team and community applying the knowledge of human relations and communication skills in her work.
4. Demonstrate use of ethical values in their personal and professional life.
5. Recognize the need for continuing education for professional development.
6. Assist in research activities.

- Active participation of nursing students for awareness programmes, rally, role play on topics like “SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN” and “BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO”, BREAST FEEDING, HIV, DENGUE. Also active participation in group projects, poster competition, nukkad natak . which help them in strengthen inter personal relationship and sense of corporation among students.
